Meet the Doctors

William A. Paruolo, M.D.

Bill Paruolo was born in New York and has moved around with his family a bit before settling down in the Dallas area. A product of Baylor University and the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, he completed his pediatric residency training at Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma before opening his practice in The Colony in 1999. He and Dr. Stellman (added to the practice in 2002 thanks to the kind and accommodating people of The Colony, Little Elm and west Frisco) practice out of their office located in The Colony, as well as taking care of children at Baylor Medical Center at Carrollton, Baylor Frisco and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Plano.

Dr. Bill’s philosophy is simple; treat each child as if it were his own. While this may seem pandering, it is something that he takes to heart and brings into the exam room with each child he sees. He knows what it is like to be a parent and have a sick child, and the concerns and worries that go with it. This is what allows him to temper the knowledge of what needs to be done as a doctor with the compassion of being a father.

Speaking of fatherhood, Dr. Bill spends his time at home with his wife and three children, a beautiful daughter and two boys who have supplied him with an ever- increasing supply of gray hair. He is active in his Church, enjoys playing softball, currently he is on the governing board of Baylor Medical Center at Carrollton.  He enjoys involving himself in the community, particularly with the high school students as he volunteers as a mentor for students in both the Lewisville and Frisco school districts.

Dr. Harry M. Stellman IV

Dr. Stellman, better known as “Dr. Pete,” grew up and graduated high school in Port Lavaca, Texas, then attended college at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. He completed medical school at Texas Tech University School of Medicine, and then his pediatric residency was at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. He obtained his board certification in Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine and moved to The Colony, Texas in the summer of 2002 to join Dr. Bill Paruolo’s growing practice. Dr. Pete and Dr. Bill are both affiliated with Baylor Medical Center at Carrollton, Baylor Frisco and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Plano.

Dr. Pete stays active in his community by talking at hospital parenting classes and parent-teacher group meetings. He is also a mentor for students of Lewisville Independent School District Health Sciences and Dale Jackson Career Center. By letting these students witness and participate in “a day in the life” of a pediatrician, he hopes to give to them a sense of the challenge, reward, and just plain fun that he himself feels everyday in his practice. As Dr. Pete says: “It’s the best job in the world!”

Dr. Pete spends most of his time outside of work with his wife, his twin sons, and his daughter. Between soccer practice and a variety of extracurricular school activities, he enjoys playing the occasional tennis match, woodworking projects, and catching a good movie.
